20090828_0737_3079 Jiuzhaigou airport. The third highest airport in China （3447.65M above sea level). About an hour and a half by taxi from Jiuzhaigou Valley.
A dispatcher friend working with China Eastern （中国东方航空） airlines told me that he always selects the better pilots to fly to Jiuzhaigou, because there is a sharp drop-off (cliff) at the end of the runway! You can see two China Eastern aeroplanes in this picture.
This photo is taken from one of the two coffee shops, and observation areas, at each end of the passenger waiting area. This coffee shop was closed. The other one was empty. Not a big surprise they were closed, they charged around $10 AUS for a cup of coffee (about three times the cost of a cup of coffee in Australia, at the moment).
